I ve never used the vortex summit series tripod but i assume it like most has the capability to unscrew the head and move it over.

It is a nice lightweight tripod which is what i wanted but with that it can be affected by the wind a bit even with the lightweight optics i use.
I think there are probably several ways to accomplish this but i purchased the manfrotto window mount and just take my tripod head off the tripod and move it over to the window mount for that use.
