Can a satisfactory finish be achieved with wet paint applied by someone that paints for a living but not wood or can vinyl wrap of some sort be applied on a diy basis. It s very tough to get the stuff on without getting little bubbles and creases in it although a heat gun might help that. I have made bath panels from mdf. Without being rude but you dont understand the process of vinyl wrap the mdf panel is coated on all 4 sides first then the face and sides again are coated with a glue then the panel with the vinyl are encased within a confined space and heat with vacuum forms the vinyl to be applied to the panel thus the product.
